Overview
Venice, Louisiana's flagship billfish tournament at Cypress Cove Marina, fished over Memorial Day week with a modified-release format and no boundaries; 2026 ran May 26-31.
The Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic is presented and hosted by Cypress Cove Marina & Lodge in Venice, Louisiana, named for the Mississippi and Green canyons offshore. Boats leave Venice at 11 AM Thursday after a blessing of the fleet and captains meeting, may fish overnight, and must be back inside the Cypress Cove cleaning station by 7 PM Saturday; scales run Thursday through Saturday.
The event scores billfish by tag/release with weighed blue marlin, tuna, wahoo and dolphin, and is a qualifier for the Louisiana Champions Cup (Leg II), Offshore World Championship, InTheBite Captain of the Year Cup and Mongo Offshore Challenge.
