August billfish and pelagic tournament out of Lighthouse Marina on Grand Lagoon, Panama City Beach, run by the Gulf Coast Sportfishing Club.
The Grand Lagoon Billfish Classic is a modified-release billfish and meat-fish tournament held at Lighthouse Marina in Panama City Beach. Boats may depart any inlet between Apalachicola and Fort Walton Beach after the 10:00 a.m. Central start on Thursday and fish through Saturday, with a single public weigh-in Saturday evening and an awards breakfast Sunday.
Base awards cover tournament champion, top three teams, first-place tuna, dolphin and wahoo, top small boat (32 ft or less) and top lady/junior anglers, with optional cash categories for white marlin, catch-and-release, dolphin, wahoo, tuna and swordfish at $250 to $5,000 levels. The host club was founded in 2025 and also runs a King of the Lagoon kingfish/dolphin/wahoo event.
