Overview
Season-opening Atlantic Division tournament of the Sport Fishing Championship league, fished out of Conch Republic Seafood Co. in Key West and scored primarily on sailfish releases.
The Key West Classic opened the 2026 Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) regular season, with both SFC divisions competing out of Key West over three days. SFC describes it as primarily a sailfish tournament, following the format of the league's 2025 Atlantic opener in Fort Lauderdale.
Tournament headquarters, scales and the fan zone were at Conch Republic Seafood Co. on the Key West Bight; a public 'Key West Rodeo' scales component ran alongside the league competition on the first two days. SFC's one-day celebrity pro-am, The Catch, was staged in Key West the day before the Classic.
