Overview
January charity tournament out of Fort Pierce Inlet with a fish-3-of-5-days billfish release division, a meat-fish aggregate division and a ladies/junior weekend, benefiting glioblastoma research.
The Lenny Schelin Jr. Memorial Tournament ('Fish The Lenny') is a Fort Pierce charity tournament held in early January alongside the Treasure Coast sailfish season. Boats fish three of five days (Tuesday-Saturday) within 50 nm of the Fort Pierce Inlet buoy; billfish are scored on releases (sailfish/white marlin 100 points, blue marlin 200) using circle hooks and 20-lb line, and a separate meat-fish division scores one fish per species (mahi, tuna, wahoo, king) by aggregate weight.
A women's and junior's tournament fishes one of two days on the opening weekend. Weigh-ins are accepted at Pelican Yacht Club, Fish Heads of Stuart and Little Jim Bait & Tackle; the kickoff and awards parties are at Little Jim Bait & Tackle in Fort Pierce. The 2026 event was the seventh annual.
