Overview
One of the country's largest king mackerel tournaments, run each spring by the Old Salt Fishing Foundation at the Madeira Beach Recreation Complex.
The Old Salt Fishing Foundation's Spring King of the Beach is a one-day king mackerel tournament fished within a 30-mile radius of Madeira Beach, with a captains meeting on Thursday, a community party on Friday and fishing plus a public weigh-in on Saturday at the Madeira Beach Recreation Complex.
The 33rd annual Spring King ran April 30 – May 2, 2026. The foundation also runs a Fall King of the Beach in November.
